Zero Tolerance Policy

In an effort to emphasize sportsmanship and to make this Ankeny Junior Football experience more enjoyable for all participants, AJF is promoting a ZERO TOLERANCE policy requiring all players, coaches, referees, officials, parents and spectators to maintain a sportsmanlike and educational atmosphere before, during and after all regular season and tournament games.

Thus, we have asked officials, coaches and Board Members to use the following guidelines throughout the regular season and tournament:

PLAYERS

A player may be ejected from the game whenever that player:

1. Openly disputes or argues any decision by an official.

2. Uses obscene or vulgar language at any time, including any swearing, even if it is not directed at any particular person.

3. Demonstrates any excessive sign of dissatisfaction with an officials decision.

Any time that a player persists in any of these actions he may be ejected for the remainder of the season or tournament.

COACHES

A coach may be ejected from the game whenever that coach:

4. Openly disputes or argues any decision by an official.

5. Uses obscene or vulgar language at any time, including any swearing, even if it is not directed at any particular person.

6. Demonstrates any excessive sign of dissatisfaction with an officials decision.

Any time that a coach persists in any of these actions he may be ejected for the remainder of the regular season or tournament.

PARENT/SPECTATORS

The game will be halted by the official or by Board Members when parent/spectators displaying inappropriate and disruptive behavior interfere with other spectators or the game. The official will identify violators to the coaches for the purpose of removing parents/spectators from the complex for the remainder of the day or the tournament, at the discretion of the official. Once removed, play will resume. Inappropriate and disruptive behavior includes, but is not limited to:

1. Use of obscene or vulgar language in a boisterous manner to anyone at any time.

2. Taunting of players, coaches, officials or other spectators by means of baiting, ridiculing, threat of physical violence or physical violence.

3. Throwing of any object in the spectators viewing area or playing field directed in any manner as to create a safety hazard.

Thank you for working with us to emphasize sportsmanship and to make this an enjoyable and rewarding experience for all.
